Ice cream in class? I think not...

Since all I do these days is school. Here is a little post about a school-type situation.

Intro: I am taking a Marketing class from Professor Debbie Baird. She likes us to call her Deb. My class is once a week every Friday. I do not like this class. I find Pro. Deb to be...well, weird. At the beginning of the semester Pro. Deb told us we could bring food into class, since class lasts a grand total of 2.5 hours, as long as it doesn't have a savory smell. Understandable, as I don't like smelling other peoples food either.

{Side note} I have a group for this class, in which we are compiling a marketing plan for a business. We are such pals, that we sit together every class. Two members in my group tend to be a little outspoken, and tend to discuss things while Pro. Deb. is lecturing. As you can imagine, she doesn't like us. Also in my class, is a man, we call him C.K. short for Captain Kangaroo, who happens to be Pro. Deb's neighbor. Weird? Yes. Another story, for another time.

The story: Before class on Friday, I had to meet with my group to finish the last few details for our the 2nd part of our marketing project. After doing so, we decided it would be nice to have some ice cream to munch on. This is something we have done before in this class. So, we got our ice cream, and proceeded into class. This is the conversation that ensued:

Pro. Deb-"Oh, your not eating that in here."

Group Member-" I thought you said we could bring food into class as long as it doesn't smell. It's ice cream, it doesn't smell."

Pro. Deb- "That is too disruptive, you need to take it out, NOW."

Group Member- "Really? It's just ice cream".

Pro. Deb- "TAKE IT OUT, NOW!"

So all four of us got kicked out of class, for eating ice cream. Nice huh? We decided it would be interesting to see what she said after we left, so we cracked open the door and eaves dropped. She continued to say that we were totally DISRUPTIVE! The funny thing is, if she wouldn't have said anything, there would have been ZERO disruption. No one cared that we had ice cream. Even better, we have had ice cream in class before, and nothing was ever said. I think she just hates us, and wanted an excuse to kick us out. There is nothing like getting treated like a child in a college course. Seriously? It will be interesting to see what score we get on our marketing project...
