Obsessiveness

I tend to become easily obsessed with various things or activities. I decided to look up the definition of that particular word.

On a side note, as I was copying and pasting the definition of obsession into this blog post and this is what I got the first time:

"I know you survived last winter, but I'm not going to have my baby freeze to death."

To say the least, I was very confused and somewhat disturbed. So I tried again. Here is the correct definition:

Obsession: a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling; broadly : compelling motivation

Persistent. Disturbing. Unreasonable. They make is seem like such a negative thing. I, for one, don't feel negatively about my obsessions at all. I'd have to say that I enjoy them, maybe too much...It's probably the same for most people. My sister W, told me that the feeling of love, from a psychological standpoint, is nothing more than a mere obsession. It has something to do with endorphins that your body releases, and some other junk. I can't remember is specifically right now, but it is very interesting. Anywho, I find obsession to be a funny thing. For others, I think it may be a little more serious....you know...stalkers. Creepy. Believe it or not, this blog post does have a point. Here are a few of my current obsessions:

smashbox make-up

sushi

beverages-i.e. hot chocolate, Italian soda, juice, milk...

Mercy

zumba

radio from hell

Brisinger-just finished it. :)

coupons

spring cleaning

That hits all of the high points. I would really have liked to add running to my list. But currently, I am slacking in the running department. I keep on forgetting my gym clothes. Such a pain.

FYI. I have had a lot of people asking me, "How are you feeling??" So, just to put it out there, I am feeling very good. I get a little nauseous at times. I think some of it is contributed to the fact that I can no longer take allergy medicine, so I have yucky gunk draining down by throat and into my tummy all night. Even when your not preggers, it's not a great feeling in your tummy the next morning. On the whole, no barfing. So as far as that goes, I'm fantastic. I hate barfing. I do not do well that. Also, I'm shopping for an OB. Any suggestion? Utah County area would be the best.

  1. You'll think I'm a weirdo but I would TOTALLY recommend a midwife. You don't have to be a hippie and want to have your baby in the woods or a swimming pool, I promise. In fact most people who have midwives still have epidurals and everything I think. There are a lot of advantages including being more affordable. They really care about how YOU want your birth to go and you still deliver at a hospital. If you want more info, I can recommend a good practice and tell you more.

  2. I would totally recommend Orem Communtiy Hospital. I delivered both of my kids there. It is a great hospital and it isn't as crazy busy as the other ones. If you would like I can give you the name of the OB I went to or there are two others that work with him. Let me know.
