Thnks fr th Mmrs

I've decided that I'm going to try and post some old photos every now and again...I'm not going to be specific, because if I tell myself I'm going to do it X amount of times, then I won't. I have had a lot of funny/interesting/embarrassing moments in my life, and I thought they would be fun to share. Plus, it means pictures on the blog, Hooray!

I figured I would start with this little beauty.

Place: Nephi-Mrs. Carter's Preschool

Date: May, 25th ( My Birthday)

As stated above it's my birthday here. I am the blond one in the blue dress with the balloon. I can't remember how old I am in this pic, but I'm sure my Mom would know. I loved sugar cookies (still do) so my Mom made them, and brought them to share with my class. How sweet, huh? For some reason, I remember Preschool very well. Probably better than more recent events in my life. On this day, one of my classmates, Cullen handed me my birthday balloon and asked me to marry him. I turned him down, because boys were just icky. I learned in this class, from another classmate named Taryn, that it is not Melk. It's Milk. We had a little argument about it, and I remember being upset that it was indeed Milk and not Melk. (I asked my Mom about it later of course, to confirm) Because I loved my Melk! I should probably thank this girl, because she probably saved me from a lifetime of Melk's. I'm sure some of you out there are familiar with the "Juab County" accent, it's kind of embarrassing, and even now I catch myself sounding like a hick at times. Sometimes you can't help but let a "Melk", "Necked" (naked), "Pellow", "Fer" (for) or "Uricka" (Eureka) fly out of your mouth.

Speaking of accents, I was in Smith's a couple of days ago and as I was checking out the boy that was bagging my groceries caught me off guard. He was talking with another employee, and I'm sure if he would have looked at me, he would have noticed my mouth hanging open. If I have ever heard an accent worse than the "Juab County" or even "Sanpete County" accents, it was then. It was full of "Git", "Yer", and "Fer's". If there was a word that could be shorted, it was. Even words that aren't ment to be shortened, they were. I was half tempted to grab his arm and ask him, have you ever heard yourself speak??? It also sounded really forced. Like he was actually trying to sound that way. Honestly...I grew up in a small town, and I would gladly be rid of those quirky little words that make me sound ridiculous! Gripe, gripe, gripe...I know. No offense to any of my blogging friends out there. I still love you all, even if you say "Pellow". :)

  1. I remember playing in the care bear playhouse waiting for our parents to come pick us up. How fun to see us when we were in preschool. Thanks for sharing this picture.
