On January 1st, Robby went to California for (I bet you can guess) the season opener of the AMA Supercross, and also to practice his dirt biking skills. I unfortunately (very, very unfortunate), had to work the day after New Years, which was Friday. So I had to stay home......while my husband ventured off to sunny California to enjoy the luxury of no snow or freezing temperatures. Quite literally. I had to endure some SERIOUS coldness while he was gone. For some reason, our thermostat started acting up the day before Robby decided to leave. It was just randomly shutting on and off at it's own will and pleasure. So we replaced the batteries, and that wasn't it. But it started working, so we thought nothing of it.
Robby left for California Thursday morning, and all was well with the thermostat, as far as I knew. I was out with Whitney for most of the day. Friday, again, all seemed well with the thermostat, but again, I was gone for the majority of the day. On Friday night, Robby's parents came over to help me set up my new shelves....and yes, they are SO NICE! Then Natalie came by with Mckenna and Mason to hang with me for a little while. In the process, Natalie lost her contact in her truck.....let's just say as soon as she lost it, it was too the point of no return. Losing a contact is probably not a big deal for most people, but when you have such retched eye sight as Natalie, Whitney, and I all have....Then yeah...it's a HUGE deal. We're talking on the verge of blindness. Whitney told me, "I've just come to the conclusion that as I get older, I'm just going to be blind, deaf, and dumb." There is so much truth to that statement. :)
Luckily, I had some extra contacts, and Natalie and I are pretty much the same prescription. So she didn't have to call Aric to come all the way down from Alpine to pick her up. Yay. Saved the day. After all the confusion, we went out to dinner at Mi Ranchito in Payson. I have a couple pictures below.

Here are my fabulous shelves. I can fit so much stuff on them!

He has the "I don't think I'm supposed to do this, but I am anyway" face. He is playing with his truck in our bowl of Jelly-Bellies. Very nice. :)Back to the thermostat.....after dinner, it wasn't working properly as it should. It was doing the same old thing, being possessed and such. So I just shut it off, as to not incur a gigantic gas bill. Luckily, I had my little electric heater, so I had Bodie sleep with me in my room, shut the door, and turned that little baby on. It worked pretty good. In the morning, thermostat...still out of service...Robby out of town...Me: Don't know what to do. So I just carted my little heater, and tons of blankets with me around the house. THEN....my electric heater QUIT WORKING!!!!!
So I froze. Seriously. It was only 52 degrees in my house. But I was leaving in an hour to go ride up with Robby's parents to his cousins sealing at the Salt Lake Temple. So I just hopped in the hot shower and took off. Poor Bodie, he had to fend for him self with the blankets.
I'm not sure why I didn't tell Mom and Dad D. about my little issue until like the end of the night...but that is just how my mind works sometimes. So once Mom D. remembered what I had told her, and told Dad D., I had like two texts and three missed calls from him that morning. I was just trying to sleep and stay warm in my bed. So he took the liberty of just showing up at my house. :) I'm very glad that he did, because Dad D. has the magic touch. He took the thermostat off the wall, wiped it off a little, and stuck it back on, and voila! It works. Just fine. No problems....why didn't I think of this???? Then only an hour later, Robby came home. This is a perfect example at the kind of luck that I have. Ugh. Robby even came home sunburned, while my fingers were about to break off like icicles.
In other news: We just found out that we're going to be Aunts & Uncles again!!! Josh and Alecia are prego!!! YAY!
