Rain, Rain, Go away

Yep....that's right. Flooded basement. Not completely, but enough to soak some of my boxes. Our dang window well decided it was cool to fill up with water and seep through the bottom of the window. There is a down-spout from the rain gutter just a few feet away from the window well outside, and that side of our house is graded on a down-slope towards the window well. So as you can imagine, it was like a giant waterfall flowing into the window well.

Since we have lived in our house we have had problems with that particular window. We even had a rubber hose coming off of the down-spout to direct the water in a different direction, but it just didn't cut it on Saturday evening. There was just too much water. We ended up getting a much longer piece of tubing and directing the water towards our lawn. I'm not sure if it really helped or not, because as soon as we did it, it started snowing......UGH....Let's just say that we are getting this problem fixed....and soon.
