To Call or Not to Call..That is The Question.

So yesterday, this little guy and I had just finished mowing the lawn when I decided I should probably take the trash to the road since Friday is our garbage day. As usual, Bodie followed me like a good little boy, and as soon as I parked the garbage can at the curb, I heared our neighbors snarling-teeth baring-barking, dogs running at Bodie at full speed. I screamed Bodie's name, and in a matter of seconds those two crazy dogs were biting and scratching at Bodie. Luckily, my neighbors were right there, as was I, and they were able to contain their animals, and I was able to whisk Bodie away. I couldn't see any noticeable injuries, and Bodie acted fine, just a little discombobulated. My neighbor said a quick, "Sorry", as she took her dogs away, and that is all that has been said.

Now these dogs are not usually in their front yard without being on a line of some sort, because of such reasons. They are not very friendly to 'outsiders'. If left alone, ( and obviously in the presence of their owners) they would do such things not only to dogs that come along, but adults and children as well. Robby has been bit once by one of them (nothing serious) when we first moved in, but after a swift kick to defend himself, we haven't had any issues, beside those two dogs barking on their back porch at 2 a.m. a few times a week. So my question is...should I call animal control and issue a complaint, or not? I think that I should, but I don't want to upset our neighbors and cause a commotion. Any ideas?

  1. I would totally issue a complaint. Especially since they are attacking adults and children! That's not okay.

  2. Yeah. Sigh...It's kind of crazy that it even happened. That we were outside at the same time their dogs weren't on their line. I understand that dogs are territorial, but when they're coming on to my driveway, attacking my dog...that is different.

  3. You totally need to call.. the entire neighbor HATES those dogs and it's not the firts or will it be the last time that something like that happens. When we had our little dog those dogs attacked it on a weekly basis.

You so need to call because they dont hesitate to call when a dog attacks their stupid little dogs.

  4. Totally call, issue a complaint every time something happens, dogs like that shouldn't be out of kennels or wandering around like that if they bite and attack other people and dogs.

  5. You should call. Dogs scare me. Always have. Experiences with dogs like your neighbors are the reason why!

    Hope Bodie is ok.
