Ok...I am totally copying this from a different blog. Not my list...but the idea.
But, I thought it was fun, and pretty much describes my life in two points. Awkward & Awesome. I am going to try to do this weekly, as a way to spur more blog posting on this here blog. Because...well...I've been slacking a bit. I noticed my running blog is just 10 posts shy of having more posts on it that this blog...and I think I started that blog like a year after this one. SO. More posts on this blog!
We shall start with the {Awkward} first:
-- The giant sheets of ice that will not melt because it won't get above freezing, that seem to be covering every road, parking lot, and driveway. Running on said giant ice sheets, sucks.
--When I told my husband, "I want to quit my job, stay home and be a Mom, and blog for a living." He said, "That sounds really boring...but it would be nice if you could stay home." We obviously don't share the same enthusiasm about blogging.
-- When strangers tell me personal details about their lives. *Enter Walmart Associate* I was checking out Walmart, and I had Caydence with me.
Walmart Checker- "Oh, how old is your baby?!?!?"
Me-"Two months".
Walmart Checker- *Thinking face* "....So, October?"
Me-"Yep."
Walmart Checker-"Oh my daughter had a baby in October too!"...(wait for it...wait for it...) "But she got a divorce and gave her baby up for adoption!!! (Said with as much disdain and excitement as possible)"
Me-*....pause...mouth is probably open..pause...* "Oh...sad..."
Walmart Checker-"Oh but the baby has such a great family now."
Me-"Oh good!...." *Walking away as quickly as possible....*
I'm not sure what was more awkward, the checker sharing that info with me, or me not having a CLUE what to say back to her...
-- The company I work for having a "Biggest Loser Contest" during the holiday season, and half of the participants gaining weight. THEN deciding to lengthen the competition to give everyone a "second chance". :)
--The ever ominous WAIT LIST at UVU. I hate you wait list...I hate you.
AND the {awesome}.
--Getting a Silhouette Machine. OMG! Can't wait until it gets here!!!!! I'm pretty sure it will put my Cricut to shame.
--Finally purchasing a new set of cookware. (Seriously...my old set was at least 6 years old...UGH) I got the Stainless Steel Giadia DeLaurentis for Target set. Not only are they super pretty, but they cook things so evenly. I feel like such a professional when I use them. Would you like me to braise that chicken for you? Well, I'm doing it anyway because I have awesome pans!
--Caydence smiling at me. And literally watching my every move. Unless there is something bright and shiny around...then I take second place in that race. :) She was playing in the living room, I walked into the kitchen, and she followed me with her eyes the whole way. Such a cute baby I have.
--Being one of the few participants in the "Biggest Loser Contest" that has actually lost weight. <---future Biggest Loser winner right here.
--Starting a new semseter, and actually realizing there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
That is my Awkward and Awesome list for this week. :)
I love this post. I think the awkward and awesome thing is pretty cool. SO do I get your cricut when your silhouette machine comes? I think you should have a giveaway so I can win it :)Congrats on losing weight, wish I could. I can't seem to stay away from that damn pepsi!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! So funny! I have been trying to think of an awkward moment... & I just thought of one. :) I was at work. This big breasted lady is wearing a low, low, low cut sweater with no bra. Her 2 year old son pulls down the sweater & begins breast feeding! This doesn't faze her at all. She just keeps talking. I stop her, "nice boob. Put it away."
ReplyDelete"whaaaat?"
"no one else is eating here. Put it away."
Lmao. She was still confused.
I love this post! I hope you don't mind but I'm going to also steal this idea from you for my blog since my camera is lost at the moment and I'm having a hard time wanting to post without a picture to go with it. I'm so glad that your little one is doing so good and that you are loving being a mommy! I can't wait to run into you guys sometime and meet her. :)
