Those were the exact words that escaped my lips as I saw that little blue Mustang staring me down.
That little blue Mustang happened to be a sneaky police officer sitting on the side of the road inconspicuously.
UGH.
I was on my way home, and I usually take the back-roads in American Fork to get to Alpine, because the Alpine Highway is a JOKE during the commute home. I was going 41 mph....in a 25 mph zone. Now...before you judge. I'm not a crazy-wreckless-driver, I promise. This section of the road is like super desolate and runs next to a golf course. Like anyone ever goes the speed limit through there...
Then, what do you know, I spy a blue little Mustang just chillin' in the side of the road. And before I could slam on my breaks..."Why is that random Mustang sitting on the side of the road. It so doesn't belong there. OH fuzz. It's one of those sneaky undercover cops that Rob and I always joke about!" Basically, I knew I was toast. I started pulling over before he even got flipped around and turned on his lights. *sigh*
I rolled down my window and handed him all of my crap. And it's like we had this mutual understanding. Usually when you first get pulled over, the officer always ask that daunting question, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" Yeah, we just skipped that step and I started handing him my info. I knew. He knew. So let's just get this thing over with.
Fortunately, my little-blue-Mustang-sneaky-officer only wrote me up for five miles over the speed limit. I didn't even bat my eyelashes. HALLELUJAH. And, I can go to traffic school. WHICH, is $100 bucks....plus the cost of my ticket. Just what I needed.
Like I said...Oh. Hell.
The most ironic thing about this situation is Rob and I ALWAYS make fun of the suckers who get pulled over by the undercover cops. Because they are ALWAYS busting people in American Fork.
Touche Officer. Touche.
That bites. I do the same thing on the road to my work. It's a random residential road before you reach the business park. There is ALWAYS a cop hanging out, waiting to bust people. It's a 25, and I was doing about 40, not paying attention. Luckily, as I drove past the cop, he shook his head at me. I don't do that anymore.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I too live for the comments on my occasional blog. Thank you for always doing so.
Oh I am sorry. Cops are always on that road and the road by the Temple. Those blue mustangs hide so well and can come out at any minute.
