PUPPPEEEE POWER!

Can anyone tell me what show my blog title comes from? I'd be impressed if you knew. :)

We had an interesting and somewhat busy weekend. It was Alpine Days. Here is how my Saturday morning started out.

RING. RING. That's my cell phone at eight something in the morning. I am not awake. It's my sister, N. So I push the ignore button. I'm so nice huh? I really thought she was going to ask me about the parade we were going to watch with them that morning. About ten minutes later. RING. RING. That's my phone again, and it's my sister again. I'm thinking, I'm still tired...Ignore. Two minutes later...there is knocking on my bedroom window.

Ok. I'm up now.

Throwing clothes on.

Putting my contacts in.

And trying to tame my wild mane.

I run out the door and find my sister and her husband in our backyard. N hands me our kitten, and proceeds to tell me a little story. {BTW, I am so SO confused and disoriented at this point...} N went to the breakfast they held for Alpine Days that morning, and when she was waiting in line she saw a little girl holding a kitten that looked just like ours. So she said, "Hey, that cat looks just like my sisters!". The mother of the little girl then said, "Oh my gosh, it probably is! My daughter found this kitten running up and down Main Street!". Then they gave our kitty to Natalie....

I'm pretty sure my kitten wasn't just randomly running up and down Main Street because she never leaves the shed in the backyard. She doesn't even follow us around. So, someone came into our yard, and took our kitty. WHO DOES THAT??

Needless to say, we took both kitty and Winston inside for most of the day so no one else would try to take them.

Later we watched the Alpine Days Parade, and headed over to the car show for a bit. There wasn't anything else too exciting for us, so we decided to take Winston up to Bridal Veil falls again so he could play in the water. We want to teach him how to swim...we have been unsuccessful so far. The canyon was SO nice that day. It was warm, but a light breeze to keep things comfortable. We followed the trail that keeps going after the falls and found a little shack with some graffiti on it. I thought it was pretty cool. Once we got home, Winston was pooped. He slept, and slept, and slept. Usually when he is sleepy he doesn't want anyone touching him, but this time, he was so tired that he could have cared less. So I got some cuddle time in with him for once. With a lab puppy....this is almost impossible at times, so I soaked it up!

Here are some pics to re-cap our weekend:

  2. LOL. Yes, we just moved to Alpine about a month ago! So we're newbies in the area. But a lot of my family lives here in Alpine actually. My sister, Grandma, and two of my aunts. :) So I've kind of had a connection to this area most of my life. Kinda crazy where you end up!
