Prego Griping

I'm getting to that super uncomfortable stage of pregnancy...and I'm ready for it to be over now. Only six more weeks!

I have also come across what I like to call a phenomenon. I've spoken with several different women who have said, "Oh I LOVED being pregnant, it was SO much fun! I could be pregnant ALL THE TIME!"........Really? I think you may want to reconsider that. I probably should have had them specify if they meant a certain segment of pregnancy they feel this way about. Because I can't imagine doing what I'm doing now at 33 weeks, and feeling what I'm feeling, for the rest of my life...No way. It's all part of the ride, and it will be so worth it  once she gets here, but seriously??Pregnant 24/7?

I really can't complain too much because I wasn't sick at all for the first 3 months. Not even a bit. Ocassionally nauseous, but that's it. Zero barfing. Hooray! I have a feeling I'm in a very small category of women when it comes to that one though.

I don't know, maybe I'm just not very sentimental, but pregnancy thus far has not exactly been the time of my life. Especially when Baby seems most comfortable when she is snuggled clear over on my right side underneath my rib cage ALL DAY. ALL DAY! I can't get her to readjust either, she is a stubborn thing. If anyone has any suggestions as far as that goes...I would sure appreciate it.

That's another thing...no one ever tells you just how uncomfortable pregnancy gets, and just how much it really hurts to have a baby kicking everything in your body 24 hours a day. Why is this? You'd think that as women, we'd all be on each others side when it comes to this pregnancy thing. Ya know? Womanly love or something. For all I know their all sitting in a dark basement somewhere laughing about how I have no idea what's coming! Well, I am here to tell you, it hurts!

Anyway...those are my gripes for now...I'm a cranky pregnant woman! No, I'm really not that moody, just seriously uncomfortable.

Here is the latest and greatest as far as pregnangy goes:

-I am about 33 weeks now.
-At our last appt, Dr. said Baby will probably be "larger than average"....Yay?
-I have my next appt, in less than two weeks now. Then we'll be on to the one weekers!
-Baby is moving ALL the time. Especially during the afternoon.
-This week I have been craving dairy. Milk, cheese, yogurt. MMmm.
-Last week it was fruit. Now, fruit gives me heartburn something fierce.
-And heartburn! Lots of it! Over just about everything!
-I'm also really liking anything pasta related. Lots of mac & cheese and spaghetti.
-I am SO tired.
-Getting in and out of bed feels like I'm leaving half of my body behind. It's really not easy.
-Baby still does not have a middle name. Suggestions are welcome.
-We are still deciding between her first name. We have it narrowed down to two.

That's really all that I can think of right now. My prego brain is very tired.

So nigh' nigh'!

  1. I am totally with you on everything you said. Never got sick once with Nixon, and never really felt like OH BEING PREGNANT IS WONDERFUL. Nope, not ever. I want to feel that way, but I didn't! Anyways, I am glad I found your blog! I will be very interested in stalking it for now on!

  2. I do love this post! I had woman all the time tell me they 'loved' being pregnant. I didn't enjoy it either! LOL. I had alot of issues when I was pregnant with Ainsley so that probably didn't help.
Ainsley use to lay on my right side ALL the time too. From about 7 months on and she never moved from that spot, up until I had her...and even then my doc had to physically move her cause she didn't want to move! LOL.
I was on the larger side (2 weeks ahead) with Ainsley up until about the last month, then she started to even out with every week appointment.
You'll have to tell me what first names you're debating on...I don't think I even know, lol. But I love the middle name Jane (that's what we wanted Ainsley to be, but changed it as we were handing in her birth certificate papers). And of course Paige!! Gosh I wish I lived closer so we could be having these talks in person! I'm coming up when baby D is born for sure! I'll even hold one of your legs up if you want me too ;o)

  3. You are so funny Stef!! Nobody really knows what pregnancy is like until they experience it. That is why people can't tell you how it will feel cause everyone is different. When I was pregnant with my little boy I was so sick for the first 16 weeks and then he was always bunched up under my right rib cage and it was so uncomfortable. I was only sick 1 week while I was pregnant with my baby girl and she must have been sitting lower cause she was never by my ribs. I had an easy pregnancy with her. Now for the heartburn I can't help you there cause I had it BAD with both pregnancies.
Once you hold that baby girl for the first time I promise you will forget about all the aches and pains and heartburn you had while you were pregnant. Hang in there girl!!

Kylee-I'm so glad you found my blog too! I'm glad at least I know who a few of my stalkers actually are!

Amanda-My sister wasn't sick at all with either of her pregnancies! So I'm hoping I have the same luck!

Darci-I wish you were closer too so I could have some prego lady talks with you! LOL!

  5. I know what you mean about other moms laughing at you! I was PISSED after I had Kellyn cause I felt like everyone was lying and nobody told me ANYTHING. So here's what I've decided now that I'm a one-year-old mama. Pregnancy and labor and delivery and being a new mom are all SOOOO HARD. But once you feel human again, you realize that you are madly in love with your baby and they are the most adorable thing in the whole world, then all that hard stuff kinda fades and you don't remember it clearly. That's why we're crazy enough to do it again. haha. That's just my theory!
